TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Nigel Dixon scored 21 points and
grabbed eight rebounds to lead Florida State to a 93-47 win over
Campbell on Saturday.
Dixon, played only 18 minutes during the win, but connected on
6-of-9 shooting and had a career-high two assists. Anthony
Richardson, a former McDonald's All-American, had a career-high 14
points.
Florida State (6-5) took the opening lead with a two-foot jumper
by Dixon and never trailed. The team outscored Campbell 45-23 in
the first half and led by as many as 50 in the second half.
Center Jonte Edwards led Campbell (2-8) with 10 points, but was
unable to defend Dixon throughout.
Dixon scored eight points during a 23-4 run by Florida State to
open the second half. The Fighting Camels struggled offensively,
missing 36-of-52 shots. They had 15 turnovers.
The Seminoles shot 53 percent. Florida State's Monte Cummings
had 13 points and seven rebounds. Delvon Arrington added 15 points. |
