College Basketball Statistics Project

This website is intended to provide historical statistical information for men's Division I college basketball. Currently, the only information available is Associated Press rankings. I hope to provide much more information in the future but will require assistance from fans of other schools.

Associated Press Rankings

The unofficial Associated Press rankings are included below. This includes the ranking for every week, along with the aggregate rankings since the poll was released in 1949 and rankings for each university. This information was determined and cross-checked with various sources mentioned below.

This data was provided by Charlie Board and compiled by Bryan Arendall. The scripts which took the data and produced web pages were written by Jon Scott using Filemaker Pro.

References

There are many references which go into a site such as this. The Associated Press rankings are based on 1999-2000 ACC Basketball Media Guide, Volume XXXXVI, No. 2 edited by Brian Morrison, (Office of the Commissioner and the Media Relations Office of the Atlantic Coast Conference, 1999) along with The Official 2000 Men's Basketball Records Book (NCAA, 1999) and Inside Sports College Basketball by Mike Douchant (Visible Ink Press, 1998).

Notes

Note #1:

This website is based on using data files to present information. If there is any information you would like to submit (such as yearly school records, coaching records, NCAA Tournament results, game results etc.), please submit it as a datafile (such as a tab delimited file or a spreadsheet). Let me know what type of information you would like to submit and I will tell you the format the information should be in. At this time, I would like to get yearly record and schedule information for Duke, Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina and UCLA to go along with the information I have already collected for the University of Kentucky.

This area is under heavy construction. Check back often to see how it is progressing.
